Parents Against Marijuana Near Schools (PAMNS) are against the LOCATION of the proposed Marijuana Retail Store “Green Theory” in Bellevue, WA (Factoria).

Location: 12827 SE 40th PL, Bellevue, WA 98006

Behind the McDonald on Factoria Blvd.

Permit Application File Number: 15-129067-LA

Mike Griffith from Par 5 Investment has filed an application for a permit to change the use in an existing building in Factoria from a driving education service and offices to a retail use for marijuana products.

The location for this proposed marijuana store is poorly conceived and ill advised given the large number of vulnerable and impressionable children and young people who visit many of the businesses and public entities in the area.  Here are some of the places that our kids frequent on a daily basis:

– Factoria KinderCare
– Newport Children’s School
– Washington International School
– Puesta Del Sol Elementary School
– St. Madeleine Sophie School
– Newport High School
– Kumon Learning Center
– Sylvan Learning Center
– Playground inside Burger King
– Kid’s Quest Children’s Museum
– Funtastic Playtorium
– McDonald’s (where Newport High School students routinely go for lunch and after school)
– Woodridge Elementary School bus stop for route 50 (Factoria Blvd & SE 41st Lane)
– Spiritridge Elementary School bus stop for route 21 (Factoria Blvd & St. Margaret’s Church metro)
– Newport High School bus stop (SE 42nd St & Factoria Blvd)
The Senior Planner of City of Bellevue is working on verifying a recently reported parcel of Puesta Del Sol Elementary School that had been missed to confirm if the newly proposed site meets all the city codes.  Given the significant number of both private and public venues located in the immediate proximity of the proposed site that are visited regularly by our children and young people, it is a matter of common sense and civic decency to vigorously oppose the opening of a marijuana retail shop at this location.

The City of Bellevue needs to hear your voices! Please sign our petition and say NO to our city planner, keep our children safe and drug free now and in the future!

We also encourage you to send your concerns to the City Planner and City Council:
